Josh  – Summit County Republican Poll Observer Coordinator:
1.       Need a lot of  poll volunteers
2.       Workers paid up to $150 for the day
3.       Long hours, 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.
4.       Polling locations like churches agree to be a public building on Election Day, they are not allowed to tell people to leave or remove signs per the contract they sign
5.       Republican club will look at adding copies of the contracts for specific polling places in future elections.

Member issues/concern discussion:
1.       Council and Board of Education has been bypassed in rush to get new levy on ballot
2.       Only 2 elected officials on safety task force

Finance Dinner

The Summit County Republican Party is hosting the annual Finance Dinner on October 1st.  The location is the Hilton, 3180 W. Market St. in Akron. Cocktails will be available at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:00.   

Governor John Kasich will be the key speaker at this special event.  This is an important fundraiser for the party, and proceeds are used to support local Republican candidates.

Health Update

Sheila, Scott Buck's wife, was severely injured last weekend when a car went through the Stow Post Office's front doors and she was pinned in the lobby.  She is in Trauma Unit 2 at City Hospital, and after all she's been through, is in good spirits.  She has had several surgeries and will have an extended rehab. 

Please keep Sheila and Scott in your prayers as she recovers.  We will send updates as we receive them.
Breakfast Meeting - September 28

The Club will be meeting at 8:30 a.m. on September 28.  This will be a breakfast meeting at On Tap on Rt. 59.  The meeting will be open forum, giving the membership a chance to ask questions, express concerns about local issues and make suggestions about upcoming meeting topics.
